The Jays played thier first game of the season yesterday and couldn't find a way to match the Marv Weiman. It was the Marv show as he went 5 1/3 innings, allowing 8 hits and striking out 4. Marv also contributed 2 singles that drove in 2 runs. The biggest one was in the second inning when the hebrew hammer (James Allison) hit a 2 out rbi single and Weiman followed up with his own 2 out RBI single to go up 2-0. "I'm ready to go tomorrow" Marv said when asked how he felt after the game, " I had them off balance all game". The Athletics improve to 2-1 on the season, tied for first as they face the 1-0 Phillies tonight on diamond 7
