2012 RHMRBL President's Letter

Welcome back RHMRBL vets,

Another season is ahead and it is time to register again.  I am asking that you get your registration in as soon as you can.
The deadline for secured spots as a vet is January 15th 2012.
Returning vet numbers are very important this year as we have some big plans ahead in making the league bigger and better:

1. We are preparing for the anticipated loss of diamond 7 from 2013-2015 due to the Pan-Am games.  As a result we will be adding more games on Diamond #1 and there will be some games scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday nights (1 or 2 games per team).  I will be receiving more information on the Pan-Am games in April.
2. We are planning to expand to seven teams for the 2012 season.  (This change will only happen if we have strong returning vet numbers)
   If we expand to seven teams:
   • The regular season schedule will be cut to 24 regular season games (to accommodate an even schedule)
   • Only the first place team will receive a bye in the playoffs.  (first round will be 2v7, 3v6, 4v5)
3. We are hosting the 3rd annual All-Star game vs. Thornhill this year at Richmond Green
4. Another full season of events for our members including:

• Jan 21st - Open registration @ Tom & Jerry's Bar
• Feb 16th - Evaluation night @ Extra bases
• Feb 18th - Draft Day @ (TBD)
• Apr 28th - Uniform pick up @ Tom & Jerry's
• May 5th - Spring Training @ Richmond Green
• June 17th - Father's Day BBQ
• July 22nd - All-Star game
• Aug 26th - AGM
• Sep 5th - Playoffs start
• Nov 2nd - Banquet (TBD)

All event dates are subject to change due to unforeseen events. Other events are still in the works, like our first golf tourney in June and the 9th annual Ray Holmes Cup poker tourney in August.
