To my old RHMRBL friends....
My oldest son - now 13 and how time flies - was playing a double header in fastpitch softball on diamond five yesterday afternoon/evening.
I stopped by Diamond 4 and peeked in on the Red Sox and Mets. It was good to see you. Some things don't change - I hung around for one full inning - long enough to see two old friends take P-6's. With two strikes you gotta spoil anything close, dudes! Or at least that's what I tell the kids that I coach these days. I won't rub it in because you are probably still grumbling.
Some time I will make a comeback and join you guys again. I miss hanging out and playing ball with you folks, though I am around diamonds four or five days a week as it is. The Pickering to Richmond Green drive seems shorter these days - the 407 and a nifty Elgin Mills exit from the 404 cuts the drive time down, so I don't have much of an excuse there. I won't be able to play until I am done coaching, but I will try not to be such a stranger.
Have a great season, guys. Maybe I will throw a case of beer in the trunk and take a drive some Sunday afternoon.
