The Reaper Cup Is Set

, Saturday September 22, 2018

Last night the indomitable Dodgers closed out their second series in just over a week with a hard fought 10-8 victory over the robust Royals. In even more nail-biting fashion, Thursday saw the insatiable Athletics' last inning rally fall just short, nearly overcoming the six run deficit, ending 8-7 for the unstoppable Astros. Facing a bases loaded jam with the tying run on third, winning run on second AND a full count, Biggie scorched a liner right at Akselrod, who fresh off the mound made up for a mishap on the last play by snagging the surely game and series winning hit.

Both of these second round series went the distance, and both saw the underdogs win their second in a row, taking out both top seeded teams in the process. Something's gotta give as captain Dickie looks to lead his Dodgers to his 4th championship in 5 years. They play host to the Action captained Astros who aim to end several long Championship droughts (Bucky since 08, Action since 06, Sweet Lou since 04, and of course the uncanny AJ, who remains woefully Reaperless). Each game these two teams have played in these playoffs has been entertaining, and we fully expect that to continue as the best-of-5 Reaper Cup Championship gets underway Sunday at 12:30!
