Dodgers Force Game 5

, Monday October 1, 2018

Yesterday saw 12 innings of baseball at The Green with the Reaper Cup making a brief appearance, as the Dodgers and Astros completed Friday's game 3. After the Astros scored one run in their half of the inning, going up 5-4, the Dodgers stormed back with six runs of their own. And that's how that first game ended (10-5) as the Dodgers forced game 4, which started shortly after.

Just as game 3 ended, game 4 was underway with both pitchers remaining on the mound. And this is the spectacular bit. Bucky who provided early relief for Akselrod in game 3, pitched 9 innings over the course of the two games. But this simply did not match Jordan Levy, who was the undeniable star of the day pitching all of the Dodgers 12 innings, allowing only two runs, while striking out 15. The Dodgers fought hard to force a winner takes all game 5, with the game 4 victory never in doubt, taking it by a final of 8-1.

The Reaper Cup will be handed out Thursday night at Diamond 7. But who will it go to? How will it happen? Who will step up? Will it be a battle of arms in Levy and Akselrod? Will AJ finally get his glory? We will know soon enough, and there's no doubt it will be an exciting atmosphere as a large crowd is expected to take in the action.
