Gone are the days where the lot was unpaved. No school by diamond 1. The soccer fields were just open fields. A group of young men desperate to have a league they could call home brought the vision of recreational baseball to The Green. They played, they partied, they had the love of the game deep in their souls. Gone are those days, but not forgotten. We don’t forget because these spirits, these souls, these legends are rekindled by second generation stars like our very own Jimmy Anderson Jr.
Junior’s father, James Anderson Sr. helped found The RHMRBL. Jr grew up watching his dad be both league president and league star. It was nearly a decade ago that Anderson Jr. and Anderson Sr. stepped on the diamond for the first time together to compete. It was unknown then, but truly hoped, that Jr, much like Sr, would help take The RHMRBL to the top of the GTA baseball circuit. Indeed, that vision has come true.
Serving as league VP for three years, Jimmy Jr. has stepped into the lead role as League President. With a new cast of executives, Jr has helped rebuild, rebrand, and remember what made this league great. Coming off his best season ever in 2018, the hard hitting lefty has consistently put solid numbers on the board. At well over 6 feet tall, Jr’s defense stands out as arguably the best first baseman in the league today.
Anderson Jr. is a kind, honest, fair, and giving man. He plays the game hard, and leaves it all on the field. His social skills are on par with his legendary father, and much like Sr, the love of the game and league are strong. We’re beyond grateful for his dedication and servant leadership.
