2020 President's Letter

, Friday December 13, 2019

Dear RHMRBL members,

The executive has convened and plans are now in motion to get the ball rolling for the 2020 season. The 36th season of the RHMRBL promises to be one to remember and we cannot wait to get things started! We have some great events to look forward to in 2020 such as: Winter Workouts @ The Dugout, Live Draft Day @ WEGZ, Spring Training Day, All-Star Game, and yet another legendary Awards Banquet night to cap it all off. We hope you are just as excited as we are to build off the momentum we gained during the 2019 season!

Registration for the 2020 season will open this Saturday, December 14th, 2019 and all members will receive an email reminder once the registration page is officially open. We ask that you please register ASAP, to help the executive with planning for the season. With league expenses rising year after year for things such as permits, umpires, insurance, equipment, and more, we will be raising the registration fee by a minimal $25, to a new registration fee of $475 per player. This is still a fantastic deal for everything included in your 2020 membership (Full MLB replica uniform, Spring Training Day, 24 Regular Season games, BBQs throughout the season, All-Star Game, playoffs, and Banquet), and we thank our amazing sponsors for making these prices possible for all of us!

Also, please note that if you are not registered by 11:59pm on February 27th, 2020 you will be ineligible to play at any time during the 2020 season (NO EXCEPTIONS). Full payment of registration and the signed waiver are also required by February 27th, 2020 in order to be included in the 2020 RHMRBL Live Draft @ WEGZ.

Once again for this season, we will be offering a lower cost option for members and rookies who wish to be a part of our replacement program.  Both league members and rookies will have the option to be a part of this list of players, who will be called upon when a team is short-handed. This option will cost $150 and will include a generic RHMRBL jersey, but no guarantee of the amount of games you will play (If no games are played, you may be eligible for a refunded amount, minus the cost of your jersey). This option is great if you cannot commit to a full season, but are looking to stay active and play an estimated 2-5 games this summer. Please note that replacement players CANNOT pitch at anytime. If you are interested in this option, please contact the executive for all the details ASAP.

RHMRBL will once again be playing a 24-game schedule for the 2020 season, as well as a Spring Training Day, All-Star Game, and 3-round playoff format. There will be no change to the bats used during the 2020 season, as both wood and BBCOR are acceptable.

A list of dates and events will be out early in the new year to give you ample time to schedule your summer plans, and details will be posted on RHMRBL.com and the RHMRBL Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/rhmrbl/), so make sure you check back often for any updates this off-season.

I am excited about the changes we have made so far in the last 12 months and the new things we have in store for the membership this year. This league means a lot to the entire executive and our #1 goal for the 2020 season is to once again make the RHMRBL the best league in the GTA!

As usual if you have any comments and/or concerns or you would like to be a 2020 sponsor, you can contact me anytime. There are many different sponsorship levels and many different ways you can help, so please let us know if you are interested in any way and can help make the 2020 season one to remember!
