2021 President’s Letter

, Sunday March 14, 2021

Dear RHMRBL Family,

2020 was a trying year for all. I hope that you and your families have remained safe and strong through our ongoing uncertain pandemic situation. Baseball in general fell on some hard times in 2020, and we had to make the difficult decision to forego the season for the safety of our league members and their families.

In 2021 we will be celebrating our 37th season of the RHMRBL. We are  planning for a great bounce back year in 2021 and we are dedicated to making 2021 as special as 2020 was difficult. As an executive we’ve been hard at work planning a number of events for 2021 with every intention of holding them as long as its safe to do so. A few things to look forward to: Winter workouts at a NEW and improved The Dugout Location, Live Draft day at Wegz, Spring Training Day, All Star Game, Monthly League BBQ’s, and a special surprise!

Registration for the 2021 season will open on Friday January 8th, 2021 and all members will receive an email reminder once the registration page is officially open. We ask that you please register ASAP to help the Executive with planning for the season.

The RHMRBL will once again be playing a 24-game schedule for the 2021 season, as well as a Spring Training Day, All-Star Game, and 3-round playoff format. There will be no change to the bats this season, as both wood and BBCOR are acceptable. Most importantly, will also be NO price increase for the 2021 Season

A list of dates and events will be out early in the new year to give you ample time to schedule your summer plans, and details will be posted on our website and the RHMRBL Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/rhmrbl/). We also have a few off-season surprises so make sure you check back often for any updates this off-season.

Please feel free to call, text or email me with any concerns, questions, or ideas that you may have as we continue to make the RHMRBL the best league in the GTA. I am open to conversations that can be discussed with the executive to see if we can make things happen in 2021 or table it for 2022.

In regard to Covid-19, we are monitoring the situation and having ongoing discussions as to how we implement protocols from the Government and Town that would permit us to play ball this season. With that being said, the Executive Team is working on a Covid-19 Waiver that will be sent out next year.

I’d also like to take a moment and recognize all of our sponsors. Without them we wouldn't be in a position to do everything we have planned for 2021.  If you would like to be a 2021 sponsor, you can contact me anytime. There are many different sponsorship levels and many ways you can help, so please let us know if you are interested in any way and can help make the 2021 season one to remember!
