Over 25 years of excellence and dedication has come to an end. Alan “Doc” Kaplan will always be known as one of the best to have ever graced the hallowed grounds of Richmond Green.
Bursting onto the scene in 1998, Doc would leave a great impression in his first season on his way to winning a Reaper Cup. Year after year he would put up dominant hitting seasons, all the while flashing a brilliant smile and “can-do” attitude whenever he stepped foot on the field.
A great addition to any team, you’ll find few like Doc. A glue-guy, valued hitter and fielder, and doctor on and off the field, they don’t make them like they used to! It’s to the surprise of few that he captured 5 Reaper Cups in his long and illustrious career!
Beyond his on-field contributions, Doc has been one of the biggest supporters of the league in a variety of roles. As a long-serving member of the executive, he was able to help navigate the league to its current glory thanks to his leadership and dedication to RHMRBL. Even more, Doc has been an incredible sponsor for the league, helping us allow the league to operate at maximal efficiency thanks to him.
While his career with RHMRBL is coming to an end, the stories of his glories and character in the lot will live on so long as games continue to be played. An integral part of all things Richmond Hill Baseball, we wish nothing but the best to Doc in his future! We hope to see you at the Green soon!
