Our League Legends series this week focuses on one of the largest, most polarizing figures in league history, Chris Van Velzen. "Bammer" as he was most well known, was as powerful at the plate as he was in the lot! It wasn't a party unless Bammer was there!
A 5-Time Champion, Bammer entered the RHMRBL Hall Of Fame in 1999.
When asked what people remember most about Chris, the answers seem to come the same-The parking lot! Bammer was a loud, fun, gentle giant. He would be the first into the parking lot and amongst the last to leave. Laughing, sharing ridiculous stories, and obviously drinking a little, Bammer was one of those guys that truly depicted what the RHMRBL is all about-great times, great friends, boys being boys, and baseball.
