Veteran Star - James Allison

, Wednesday July 24, 2019

James Allison, or ‘J.A.’, or ‘Jaaaah’ has been on a trajectory of both simple stardom and indeed Hall of Fame status since joining the league in 2010.  He quickly grew accustomed to the sweet taste of champagne in his first three consecutive seasons, however hasn’t returned to being an integral part of championship team since.  He’s thirsty for another one so batters and runners beware!

J.A. is consistently in the top tier of players picked year over year and for good reason… he’s dominant in two premium spots:  Pitcher and Catcher.  He’s captured both playoff pitcher and overall playoff MVP in 2012 and has been a staple in the league executive branch since 2012, contributing to the health and well being of the league.

On the field, he’s as competitive and intense as they come, especially on the bump.  He expects 100% effort behind him as he’ll be giving 100% effort to shut down his opponents.  Off the field, J.A. does a 180 degree turn and is as mild mannered and casual as they come.  Don’t believe me?  Ask him for his Seidel impression.

He’s recently enjoying fatherhood a second time but that shouldn’t affect his determination to be the last team standing come playoffs.  Fred VanVleet anyone?

J.A. is one heck of a teammate and an all-around nice guy…. Unless you’re in the unenviable position of standing in the batters box when he has those Stieb eyes. ~ PSo
